Menlo School CA placed all seven athletes in the top 18 in its White Division 3-mile varsity race to prevail by a 31-118 margin over Santa Fe Christian CA at the 39th Woodbridge Cross Country Classic at SilverLakes Sports Complex in Norco, Calif. Senior Charlotte Tomkinson ran the fastest female time on opening night by clocking 17:25.2, followed by Kyra Pretre in second at 17:45, Alexandra McClusker taking fifth in 18:01.6, Marisa Castagna securing 14th in 18:19.5, Amanda Foster earning 15th in 18:20.9, Katie Aufricht finishing 17th in 18:25.8 and Cameron Boom placing 18th in 18:29 for the Knights. Menlo clocked 89:52 to become only the second California Division 4 team to run under 90 minutes at SilverLakes Sports Complex, trailing Sage Creek's 88:48 last season. Menlo also elevated to the No. 2 girls team in Central Coast Section history at SilverLakes Sports Complex, trailing Homestead's 89:39 in 2016.
